Parking for Acrisure Amphitheater: How to Plan Ahead

Believe it or not, there are over 49,000 parking spots in Downtown Grand Rapids. But with the opening of the Acrisure Amphitheater and a packed calendar of shows, finding that “perfect spot” now takes a little more planning than it used to.

The good news: you don’t have to circle the block for an hour or overspend to make it work. Here’s how to park smart, especially on event nights at the Amphitheater.

The Best “Bang for Your Buck” Spots

  1. DASH Lots: Still some of the best value Downtown. Typically $4–$12 for the entire day and a strong option if you’re planning to park once and head toward the Amphitheater.
  2. Metered Street Parking: Most meters run 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. Pro tip: Always check signage, some areas stay enforced later, especially closer to the riverfront and event zones.
  3. Studio Park Ramp: Heading downtown early for dinner or drinks before the show? If you visit One Twenty Three, you can get up to 4 hours of validated parking.

For major events at the Acrisure Amphitheater, you can now reserve parking at select City ramps up to one month in advance. Pricing varies by event, but having a guaranteed spot, especially on sold-out nights but it can save you time and stress.

Beyond the Parking Space: Smarter Ways to Get There

 

On Amphitheater nights, sometimes the easiest move is to park once or not at all and let the city do the rest.

DASH Bus

The ultimate “park & ride” move. Park in an affordable DASH lot and take the free shuttle to downtown. Event service starts at 5 PM (or 2 hours before showtime) and runs until midnight.

Service ends at midnight, so late nights require a backup plan. Shuttle times can vary during peak arrivals.

The Rapid

A reliable option if you’re coming from outside downtown and want to skip parking altogether.

About a 0.3-mile walk from Central Station to the Acrisure Amphitheater. Last outbound trip is at 11:20 PM and weather can impact the walk.

Rideshare

Easy, door-to-door option. Great for groups splitting the cost.

On event nights, pickup/drop-off is limited to Fulton St. Bridge. From there, it’s about a ¼-mile walk to the venue.

Park & Walk

Lower-cost (or free) parking just outside the busiest areas, plus a straightforward walk in. Market Ave will be closed for an optimal and safe walking experience.

Distance varies, and weather can be a factor. Road closures (including Market Ave and the US-131 off-ramp) may impact your route.

Carpooling

Split parking costs and reduce the number of cars heading Downtown.

Still requires planning and potentially a walk depending on where you park.
