Grand Rapids Community Legends

This 7.5-foot bronze sculpture honors Rev. Lyman Parks, Grand Rapids’ first African-American mayor (1971–1976). Part of the Community Legends Project, it celebrates his leadership and efforts to promote inclusion. The statue stands at Calder Plaza near City Hall.
