Installed on the grounds of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum in 1984, Judson Nelson’s sculpture honors President Ford’s support of the U.S. space program. The piece, the first major artwork to depict weightlessness, shows an astronaut emerging from a spacecraft.
